Darrelle Revis Released By the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Will the Patriots Make a Move?

Darrelle Revis came back from his knee injury and made the pro bowl last year, in what turns out to be his only season in Tampa Bay. The cost of his very large contract, which required another bonus to be paid if still on the roster, plus a draft pick (3rd round if still with team) were too much. Now, Revis will get to go to the highest bidder. Does Denver have any more money after signing Aqib Talib and DeMarcus Ware? What about other contenders, like New England? He already got paid, and now he can decide on going to a team with lots of cap space, or a contender that can try to get creative.

New England, in particular, has a need with the loss of Talib to their chief AFC rival in Denver. It wouldn’t hurt that Revis is a former Jet. New England does not tend to mortgage the future, but they will certainly bring in a veteran that can contribute.
