Mark Sanchez, cut by the Jets late Friday afternoon, is apparently going to pack up all his hairbands, scarves and hot dog mustard into a U-Haul van and make the short trip down I-95 from New York to Philadelphia. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweeted Monday afternoon that Sanchez will sign with the Eagles to backup Nick Foles as long as he passes a physical on his surgically repaired shoulder. It means the Jets and Eagles will have effectively traded back up quarterbacks after Vick landed in New York on Friday.

The battle to carry the clipboard on the sidelines of Lincoln Financial Field between Sanchez and Matt Barkley figures to be fascinating this summer.

However before Eagles fans could begin flooding the lines of WIP to complain, NFL Network’s Ian Rapport writes that (wait for it) the Giants might be interested in the former USC signal caller, too.

So yes there might actually be a bidding war for the man who engineered the #buttfumble and once ate a hot dog — with mustard — on the sidelines of an NFL game. What a crazy world we live in.
