Steve Wojciechowski, the former Duke point guard who was an assistant coach with the Blue Devils for over a decade, has finally cut the Coach K cord and will be the next coach at Marquette, according to ESPN.

The obvious question: Who will handle Coach K’s halftime interviews for nationally-televised games? Wojo handled 95% of them last season. The guess here is Jeff Capel, who probably will be the next assistant to leave.

Coach K’s coaching tree is an impressive one, so it’s logical to think Wojo will be a hit in Marquette in a couple years. Yes, Quin Snyder flopped at Missouri and Capel struggled at Oklahoma, but don’t forget Mike Brey’s success at Notre Dame, what Tommy Amaker is doing at Harvard (he had his ups and downs at Seton Hall and Michigan) and that Johnny Dawkins just took Stanford to the Sweet 16.

Also, look for Chris Collins to make some serious waves at Northwestern in the near future, and don’t be surprised if the Wildcats make the school’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016.
