Connecticut trailed 16-4 in the first half, with many declaring the Huskies for dead against the top-seeded Florida Gators. The Huskies, though, dominated the rest of the game thanks to their guards and DeAndre Daniels. Connecticut outscored Florida 59-37 over the remainder of the game, and took it to Florida steadily. Daniels led the scoring with 20 points, while Scottie Wilbekin had a horrible game, forcing many shots, dribbling too much, and scoring only 4 points.

Connecticut made 56% of their shots, while Florida made only one three pointer all game.
