California Chrome Can Wear Nasal Strip in Belmont Stakes

California Chrome fans can breathe easy: The horse that has captured the first two legs of the Triple Crown has been granted permission to wear a nasal strip at the Belmont Stakes on June 7th. Initially, California Chrome was not going to be permitted to wear the strip because there are apparently rules in New York against it.

Controversy – a really silly one – has been avoided. Except large amounts of interest in this race and a spike in TV ratings for the two minutes that the race takes place.

California Chrome can now become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Triple Crown.

What kind of odds can I get on this: Chrome wins the Belmont, and weeks later a smoking gun emerges — the nasal strip gave the horse an unfair advantage, and Chrome is stripped of the Triple Crown!
