Mexico is scheduled to face a (temporarily) Cristiano Ronaldo-less Portugal team Friday night at Gillette Stadium in a pre-World Cup friendly. During practice on Thursday El Tri coach Miguel Herrera bumped into Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the duo posed for a photo.
Herrera claimed not to know who Brady was, writing (loosely translated), “He asked for a photo. I don’t know who he is or if he’s won something, but I made the kid’s day.” Guess Herrera didn’t hear the news earlier this week that Brady and Gisele sold their mansion in Los Angeles to Dr. Dre for $40 million. Nor has he, apparently, watched a second of NFL football over the last decade. Either way, the photo got Brady’s name trending in Mexico.
Given that Gisele is Brazilian and her native country is hosting the World Cup, perhaps we’ll see Brady in the stands over the next month. Just imagine what sort of hats he could break out in the Southern Hemisphere.
