Florida football assistant Joker Phillips has resigned from the Gator program. According to Yahoo Sports, his resignation came after being turned in to the NCAA for what could be a major recruiting violation.

The former Kentucky head coach was spotted in a restaurant with a high school recruit, during the recruiting dead period. That’s a secondary violation if it was unintentional and a major violation if it was intentional. An interesting twist: Phillips reportedly was ratted out to the NCAA by “an individual with ties to the Miami Hurricanes athletic program.”

Not sure how this will affect the Gators on the field, but Florida’s social media game will take a major blow.
