Ernests Gulbis Thought a Reporter Asked Him About Vampires at Wimbledon

Ernests Gulbis defeated Estonia’s Jurgen Zopp (7-6, 7-5, 7-6) in the first round of Wimbledon on Monday. After the match, a reporter asked Gulbis his thoughts on John McEnroe’s thoughts on getting rid of umpires in tennis. Gulbis misunderstood and thought the reporter said “vampires.” The reporter enunciates “umpire” better on a second try and it seems that Gulbis moves on. But then he brings up vampires again about a minute later thinking that McEnroe compared umpires to vampires and the reporter was asking about people who “sucked the life out of the game.” This is one of the greatest moments in any press conference ever. I just wish Bobby Ramos was there with a follow-up question.
