Giovani dos Santos Goal From Distance Gave Mexico 1-0 Lead on the Netherlands

Giovani dos Santos scored his first goal for Mexico since June 2012 to put El Tri ahead 1-0 on the Netherlands in their Round of 16 game at the 2014 World Cup. Mexico has been eliminated in the Round of 16 in the previous five World Cups. Dos Santos held off a pair of Dutch defenders and found space from distance to blast it past Jasper Cillessen in steamy Fortaleza.

As expected, Mexico coach Miguel Herrera loved it.
