The Netherlands scored twice in the final six minutes to win 2-1. Mexico is eliminated in the Round of 16, for the sixth consecutive World Cup. Time is a flat circle, something, something.
Wesley Sneijder equalized with a rocket in the 88th minute. Rafa Marquez took Arjen Robben down in the box in injury time for a penalty. Soft? Perhaps, given the situation. Emphasized theatrically? To be sure. A foul in the box? Yes.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar converted the penalty.
