Scott Van Slyke had himself an eventful weekend. The Dodgers center fielder was thrown out of LA’s 9-1 win over the Cardinals on Saturday for arguing with the umpire. On Sunday, during a day off, Van Slyke’s teammates decided to give him a good old fashioned “hot foot.” It took a while to get going, but eventually Van Slyke thought something smelled funny and then had to get something off the back of his shoe. Vin Scully got a big kick out of the mild annoyance which is enough reason for any baseball player to do anything. The dugout was also quite amused. The Dodgers are tied for first in the NL West.
