The Associated Press has released its preseason college football poll. Fun to discuss. Not fun when it sets an unfair framework for college football’s subjective, figure-skating-like method of choosing teams to be eligible to play for a national title. Be sure to tell individual voters how you really feel over social media. They love it.

5. Ohio State

10. Baylor
11. Stanford
12. Georgia
13. LSU
14. Wisconsin
15. USC
16. Clemson
17. Notre Dame
18. Ole Miss
19. Arizona State
20. Kansas State
21. Texas A&M
22. Nebraska
23. North Carolina
24. Missouri
25. Washington

There’s not much to quibble about, since nothing has happened yet. Florida State and Alabama are the consensus front-runners. There’s maybe a second tier with Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Auburn. Teams 7-14 are basically interchangeable. So are teams 15-25.
