Watch Johnny Manziel Sulk When Told Everyone Saw His Middle Finger

Johnny Manziel hoisted a middle finger to the Washington Redskins sideline Monday while he was jogging back to the huddle. I laughed. You laughed. We all laughed. Well, not this Cleveland PR flack, who had the unfortunate task of getting serious when notifying the rookie that everyone saw him. Manziel buried his face in his hands and knew it was the kind of thing that would be The Talking Point in Sports Tuesday.

Manziel will almost certainly be fined by the No Fun League, even though the bird appeared to be a moment of levity – guys joking around on the field! Trash talk still happens, thankfully! – and much of today will be spent hand-wringing about how this is a bad look for the player/franchise/NFL and THE CHILDREN WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN and how nobody has taught this entitled punk respect and manners and blah, blah, blah.

Is Andrew Luck flipping (or flicking?) off anyone on the field? IS HE?

No single player on the Redskins is taking credit for drawing Manziel’s bird (if you watch closely, it looks like DeAngelo Hall is nearest to Manziel), but several said they enjoyed it.

"“It was hilarious,” said Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo, who was pegged by one teammate as the instigator. “We were messing with him a little bit, just saying this ain’t college and stuff like that. We were having a little fun. “Manziel flipped us off. It was something funny. We were all laughing on the sidelines.” “We saw it,” Redskins safety Ryan Clark said. “I don’t care — it’s funny. Nobody cares; it’s football. I’m sure if he had the opportunity to turn around and say it, he would have.”"

There’s no way this is the deciding factor in who wins the starting QB job for the Browns – I still think you roll with Hoyer and Manziel will replace him, definitely, at some point – but on some TV network or website, you just know a bunch of lame fuddy-duddies are going to try and ascribe some larger meaning to this incident.
