John Calipari, as usual, has a loaded Kentucky team next season. We’ve already ranked them No. 1, and no team has as many prospects for the 2015 draft as the Wildcats. This really isn’t anything new – it’s been that way for the last few years. If you’re an elite recruit with an NBA future, Kentucky is on your list.

What’s new: Calipari has decided to host his own “two-day campus scouting combine for NBA executives” in October to give the pros a glimpse at all the stars he has. All 30 teams will be represented. And then, according to Woj, Calipari will close the team’s practices for weeks or months so it won’t be a distraction.

Smart.

"Calipari and his staff have been in contact with NBA executives on the format of the two-day event. Kentucky is expected to run double sessions of practice and workouts on Oct. 12 before closing off access to NBA teams for the foreseeable future."

Surely, writers will pepper Tom Izzo and Coach K and Jim Boeheim and Rick Pitino for their hot take on this, and it probably won’t be kind.

They’d do the same thing if they had 10 future NBA players, too.
