January 30th – According to TMZ, Silva accused his wife, Thaysa Kamiji Silva, of cheating on him with her MMA instructor, Pablo Popovitch.

"Thiago’s wife says he got so angry, he pulled out a silver revolver and shoved it into her mouth — while threatening to shoot her. Thiago’s wife eventually got free and obtained a restraining order against the UFC fighter."

February 6th – Silva, reportedly armed, is involved in an incident at Pablo Popovitch Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Florida that ended with a standoff with police at his home.

February 7th – Silva arrested, charged with two counts felony attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and non-violent resisting of an officer/obstructing justice.

The attempted murder charges are reduced to aggravated assault with a firearm. Via TMZ:

"“It just seems if he wanted to shoot Mrs. Silva, he would’ve done it. He didn’t do it.”"

Dana White says that Silva will never fight in the UFC again.

September 4th – Charges dropped. Via TMZ:

"“All charges against Thiago Silva were dropped. The victim was uncooperative, and investigators determined that she has likely moved out of the country.”"

September 5th – Thiago Silva re-signs with the UFC.

Apparently, the MMA academy did not have any security footage of Silva speaking with his wife that evening. Silva has also had two wins in the UFC overturned following both a failed drug test and a “falsified” drug test. Silva is hoping to fight – in the UFC – sometime in January.
