Deion Sanders Says 49ers Players Want Jim Harbaugh Out

Deion Sanders, who once played for San Francisco, claims that 49ers players are unhappy with coach Jim Harbaugh and “want him out.” Sanders, the greatest cornerback in NFL history who now spends his time on television shouting and screaming like a grade schooler, made these claims after the 49ers rallied to defeat the Eagles, 26-21 Sunday. The win helped the 49ers avoid a 1-3 start.

"“They want him out. They’re not on the same page. I really want to know if they’re really playing for the head coach. I got a question with that. Are you really down with your head coach, San Francisco 49ers? Because the way it looks and what I’m hearing, you’re really not down for your head coach. And that’s a problem. They really got some problems that we hear rumblings. We all know people inside locker rooms.”"

It’s unclear if Sanders is reporting this, speaking for all 53 players on the roster, or just offering his opinion. Many will quickly note that Sanders is tight with receiver Michael Crabtree (team-leading 24 receptions), dating back several years.

Interestingly, 49ers’ running back Frank Gore gave a passionate speech to his teammates right before the game against Philadelphia, stressing that they quit griping about “individual losses.”

Hmmmm.

Crabtree is in a contract year. He was targeted a team-high 11 times last week in the loss to Arizona, and a team-high eight in Sunday’s win. Is he leading the Jim-must-go charge?

And of course there’s Harbaugh, who is in the 4th year of his 5-year deal, but there’s no way he enters next season as a lame duck coach in San Francisco. Keep this in mind about Harbaugh: His wife is from Kansas City, and naturally, with the Jayhawks firing Charie Weis, there will be some folks trying to connect Harbaugh to the opening, which is just 40 miles away.

Of course, depending on whom you want to believe, Harbaugh’s wife is said to love the West Coast, so who knows, maybe he’d actually take the Oakland Raiders job after Dennis Allen is fired?

Oh, and Jim Harbaugh went to Michigan, and we all know Brady Hoke is toast there.
