TBS Coaxed George Brett Into an Awkward Promo Read During Interview

George Brett is the Royals best all-time player, Steve Balboni or Bob “The Hammer” Hamlin notwitstanding. In the second inning of Tuesday night’s American League Wild Card Game at Kauffman Stadium TBS’ Matt Winer interviewed Brett … and the network decided to use the time to squeeze in a “very funny” promo out of the Hall of Famer instead of talking more about, you know, about Kansas City’s first postseason game since 1985.
It brought back flashbacks to the days FOX used to interview the cast of That 70s Show in the middle of deciding World Series games. Never change marketing departments, never change.
On the bright side, Brett apparently likes Seinfeld reruns.
