Nick Saban was heated Monday with the media, and perhaps part of the reason is because he was aware this story was going to pop: Kurt Freitag, a tight end on the Crimson Tide, was busted – curiously, the report doesn’t say he was charged with anything – with 112 grams of marijuana and $4,661 in cash.

AL.com obtained the police report, which says the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force was tipped off on Freitag, and then while monitoring him, witnessed a drug deal go down. Then they went to his dorm room and confiscated the drugs and cash.

The 6-foot-4 tight end played in two games last year, but didn’t have a reception so far this season.
