The Browns and Jags Combined for One of the Worst Fourth Down Plays You Will Ever See

Cleveland is not handling the role of expected heavy favorite very well today, trailing the Jaguars in the fourth quarter. That pressure also led to this bizarre sequence, which began on fourth down when Mike Pettine decided to get wacky. The Browns initially had the punt team on, but then in an attempt to cross up up the Jaguars, ran the offense back on the field en masse.

This did lead to panic from the Jaguars–guys were running on and off the field, and with only one timeout, Jacksonville did not apparently want to burn the last one. But then Cleveland actually snapped the ball and only half the team seemed to no what was going on. Brian Hoyer then tried to run the option with Ben Tate (“here, you take it!”). There as a flag for too many men on the field, as a Jaguar was running off, but as it turns out, he was only the 11th player. Jacksonville managed to stop this beauty with 10 men.
