Mix Diskerud Flashed Some Martial Arts Skills to Score vs. Ireland
By Mike Cardillo
Mix Diskerud scored his fifth goal for the United States National Team Tuesday in a friendly vs. the Republic of Ireland in Dublin. Diskerud pulled off his best Zlatan Ibrahimovic impression, flying in to spear in a header from Chris Wondolowski, set up by Jozy Altidore. It was a well-worked goal for the U.S., whom up until that point had been out-played.
The goal made it 1-1 at halftime.
ESPN’s Taylor Twellman reported on the broadcast that over a dozen teams were scouting Diskerud tonight at the Aviva Stadium, so obviously scoring a goal helps his club career.
