Pam Oliver: Johnny Manziel Wasn't Late, But Arrived Well After Brian Hoyer

Johnny Manziel, who turned 22 yesterday, arrived at the stadium shortly before 11 am for a 1 pm kickoff against the Colts. When Manziel arrived at the facilities, starting quarterback Brian Hoyer was already warming up, says Fox Sports broadcaster Pam Oliver: “[Manziel] wasn’t late. It’s just his custom [not to show up early], the team tells me.”

The implication here seems a little bit like in Office Space when Jennifer Aniston gets criticized by her boss for wearing the bare minimum amount of flair pins. If the team did want Manziel to arrive earlier, they could tell him to be there then. All of Brian Hoyer’s apparently fabulous work habits haven’t translated into production in the past three games, and the Browns are supposedly willing to move on this offseason if things don’t improve:

Whether or not the Browns want Johnny Manziel to show more initiative, it’s not as though information about his customs was hidden from the organization when they traded up to draft him in the first round.
