LeBron James Broke "Royal Protocol," Put His Arm Around Princess Kate

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were courtside for the second half of the Cavaliers blowout win over the Nets in Brooklyn on Monday night. Before the game, Will and Kate got to take pictures with Dikembe Mutombo. That would have been grand enough for any royalty, but they also go to sit next to Mutombo. And share popcorn and laughter with the gregarious retired big man. And they met Jay Z and Beyonce.

They also recieved Cavaliers jerseys from LeBron James. One with “CAMBRIDGE” on the back and a tiny one for Prince George. Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to America without some sort of controversy. So LeBron broke “Royal Protocol”and put his arm around Kate. Royal Protocol is just like Baseball’s Unwritten Rules or Hockey’s Code, but the British probably wrote down their silly rules at some point. Hopefully, being best friends with Dikembe Mutombo becomes part of future Royal Protocol.

I think its safe to say that after this diplomatic meeting, we won’t be having anymore wars with England. Here’s to another thousand years of whatever is happening in this picture.
