Carmelo Anthony is a Loser, and the Knicks Are Stuck with Him

Carmelo Anthony isn’t going anywhere. I don’t even know why there’s speculation that he’s willing to waive his no-trade clause. What team is taking on that hideous contract?

Let me guess, this was Carmelo’s grand plan: Get the Knicks to pay him the most money, because they could, then get traded to a real team!

The Knicks made two horrendous decisions this offseason: Bringing in Phil Jackson in a role he never previously had, and retaining Carmelo Anthony at a NSFW salary. The Knicks are the Titanic and, and while everyone else saw the iceberg, they just ran right into it at full speed.

Trading Tyson Chandler this offseason? Simply re-arranging deck chairs.

Quit getting excited about Amare and Bargnani coming off the books next summer. NOBODY IS COMING TO PLAY WITH MELO. Marc Gasol? Get a fucking clue. Not happening.

Best case scenario (besides ‘Melo fighting teammates): Someone hires Isiah Thomas as GM, and the Knicks trade Melo to that clueless team. Outside of that? Enjoy life with 35 or fewer wins as long as Melo is around, and wait until the summer of 2019, when he’s gone.

Until then, build through the draft, like the 76ers are.

As I said all summer: The Lakers are in a better spot for the future than the Knicks are.
