Barry Larkin Leaves ESPN's Baseball Tonight

2011 -- Barry Larkin

Barry Larkin, the Hall of Fame shortstop who has been an MLB analyst at ESPN since 2011, has left the network, sources told The Big Lead.

ESPN confirmed the departure Wednesday afternoon, and a spokesman would only release this statement.: “We appreciate Barry’s great contributions to ESPN and we wish him the best.”

Sources say Larkin has been itching to get back into MLB in some capacity. He interviewed for the Tampa Bay Rays managerial position last month, and last year turned down an offer to interview for the Detroit Tigers managerial job.
