Ray McDonald and the San Jose Police are again in the news together. According to ABC 7, Ray McDonald had a search warrant executed at his house, in regard to a rape investigation. The San Jose police got a call from a local hospital alerting them to a possible sexual assault, and that led to the warrant being executed.

We’ll note that the search warrant alone being carried out at his house doesn’t mean he is the target. However, though no details are provided, at least according to ABC 7, “[t]he preliminary investigation revealed the alleged suspect was Ray McDonald.”

Ray McDonald was of course previously involved in a domestic assault investigation that came out before the season, was never de-activated by the 49ers, and was ultimately not charged by the local police (though that was complicated by an officer who also worked for the 49ers and who was called by McDonald being the first on scene).

[UPDATE: The alleged victim is not the fiancée who was involved in the domestic abuse allegations.

If there was any doubt, Ray McDonald is the target of the investigation.]

[UPDATE: The 49ers have released Ray McDonald.]
