Top Ten Movies of 2014 According to the TBL Staff

It is the end of the year so it is time to rank things in list form. Yesterday we counted down the Top 10 TV Shows of 2014 [According to the TBL Staff]. Today, we’re talkin’ ’bout the movies. Turns out, we don’t see a lot of them. I was the only one who was even able/willing to put together a complete top 10 – and I only saw half of those movies in theaters.

How’s that for a top 10? With the exception of Neighbors, that appears to be a fairly legitimate 2014 Top 10. Neighbors (73%) and Interstellar (73%) are the only movies in there with a Rotten Tomatoes score below 85%. That’s not bad.

Having said that, I’m going to share each person’s specific list below. They are equally sad, embarrassing and laughable. Turns out we have no business putting together a list like this, yet somehow we managed to do a decent job. Every other movie we saw this year though… It’s ugly. You’re  going to have a field day with these. Consider these public admissions of cinematic patronage our gift to you this holiday season. Enjoy.

I didn’t think I had seen any this year, but thanks to a complete list Stephen sent was able to locate these seven. ALL of these were seen on DVD, the only movie I saw at a movie theatre this year was “Wizard of Oz”, which I think was released before January of 2014 (and was a free afternoon showing where I took the kids for a mid-day break this summer). Most were seen because someone else wanted to watch them. The LEGO Movie is legit good, though, because everything is awesome and so are double decker couches and Batman’s musical taste.

1. Draft Day – The one movie I saw this calendar year in a theater was Draft Day. Let’s not recommend that.
