Greg Hardy, the Carolina Panthers pass-rushing specialist who missed 15 of 16 games this year after he was arrested for alleged assault of his girlfriend, is officially off the hook. His case was surprisingly dismissed this morning in a Carolina court. The reason? His ex-girlfriend – Hardy was allegedly upset at her for a previous relationship with the rapper Nelly – wouldn’t cooperate with authorities, and the two are rumored to have reached an out-of-court settlement.

According to the police report, Hardy threw his girlfriend onto a bed full of weapons and threatened her.

Hardy got paid $13.1 million last season by the Panthers after they used a franchise tag on him, and now, he’s a free agent. He turns 27 this July. Will he still face punishment from the commish next season, regardless of where he signs?
