8th grade boys basketball in Kansas isn’t exactly the highest quality sport you will ever see, but it apparently has some pretty unique endings. The Rock Creek Mustangs trailed the Riley County Falcons by 1 (26-25) with just a few seconds left in regulation. A Mustangs player crossed over his defender as time ticked down and got off a pretty good shot that bounced a few times before settling on the back of the rim as time expired.

And there it sat. Motionless. Riley County celebrated. Rock Creek looked on in shock. Cheerleaders weren’t sure what to do. What a brutal way to end a game. This is worst possible outcome for a shot at the buzzer.
