Welp. It’s obviously not official yet, but, per Torrey Smith’s blog and Twitter account .. it appears that his time as a Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver is expired.

For the most part, the Twitter replies to Torrey’s blog post reveal that he meant a lot to the Ravens/their fans — and will be genuinely missed…

During his four years in Baltimore, Torrey Smith registered 30 touchdowns, and averaged 16.9 yards per catch. Torrey appeared in all 64 regular season games, starting in 62 of the 64. His best season as a Raven was in 2013 when he caught 65 passes for 1,128 total yards. Despite recording only 49 receptions for 767 yards in 2014-2015, he did catch a career-high 11 touchdowns and drew an NFL-leading 12 pass interference calls for 261 yards.

Overall, Smith has 213 catches, 3,591 yards, an impressive 16.9-yard average per catch, and 30 total touchdowns. He is still one of the league’s top deep threats, and will surely add value to whichever team signs him.

The rumored front-runner for Torrey’s services is the San Francisco 49ers

If Smith signs with San Fran, he’ll team up with Anquan Boldin — once again… Smith and Boldin started together on the 2012 Ravens team that defeated the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.

Translation: The NFL is weird.

We won’t know anything for certain until Tuesday at 1 PM PST — when all free agent transactions can be filed to the league office and made official.

Stay tuned….
