Mario Balotelli looked about ready to get in the face of Manchester United defender Chris Smalling following a second-half challenge that spilled off the field of play. The confrontation took place close enough to the sideline that some fast-thinking Liverpool fans restrained Balotelli before he could react and do anything that might prompt his second yellow card of the game.
Manchester United won the thoroughly entertaining, albeit insane, match 2-1.
