Would a Team Comprised of John Calipari's Former Kentucky Players Be NBA Title Favorites?
Earlier this week, my friend Sean Highkin, who writes for Pro Basketball Talk and Bleacher Report, posited a theory that an NBA team that was filled with only John Calipari’s former players at Kentucky would be favored to win an NBA championship:
Beyond that, they’d have Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight, Patrick Patterson, and Nerlens Noel coming off the bench. I asked Highkin, who spends nearly every waking hour watching, thinking, or writing about the NBA, how he felt this theoretical Kentucky All-Star team would match up against the Cavs and Warriors, which other teams could give the squad trouble, and what type of home court he envisioned for them (hint: Which American city would be the first to be the recipient of a relocated or expansion team?).
We also discussed why he feels it is asinine that there are pundits out there who think this current Kentucky team could ever win a game against an NBA team.
