Billy Hamilton is fast. Just how fast is he? Glad you asked. The Reds outfielder is quick enough to swipe second base on a pitch out, as he did this afternoon vs. A.J. Burnett and the Pirates. Sure, the throw from Pittsburgh catcher Tony Sanchez wasn’t right on the money, but why split hairs?

Hamilton is up to six stolen bases through 2+ games. He could steal 100+ bags, but it comes down to on-base percentage. Last year he reached only 29 percent of the time and as the old saying goes, ‘you can’t steal first base.’
