Oregon Senior Steeplechase Runner Loses Race During Premature Celebration

Oregon’s Tanguy Pepiot, a senior from France, was meters away from winning the steeplechase event at the three-team Pepsi Team Invite this weekend. Pepiot began his celebration a bit early and decided to take the opportunity to hype up the Eugene crowd. While signaling to the crowd to make noise as he jogged toward the finish line, Washington’s Meron Simon passed him and won the race.
