Islanders Defeat Capitals 2-1 in Overtime, Cal Clutterbuck Has Some Words for Alex Ovechkin After the Game

The New York Islanders defeated the Washington Capitals today 2-1 in overtime, and took a two games to one lead in the best-of-seven series.

Islanders Captain John Tavares scored the game-winning goal 15 seconds into the overtime period, as Nikolay Kulemin’s shot was initially-stopped by Capitals Goaltender Braden Holtby — who tried to direct the rebound into the right corner, but, ultimately found Tavares’ stick with the save, who scooped it in before Holtby could recover…

After the game, the Islanders’ Cal Clutterbuck spewed some venom towards the Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin.

Cal, Why’d you have to say that? … You were my hero, Cal! You come out with stink like that. You poop mouth, with poop out of your mouth!
