Jose Iglesias Showed Off Some Defensive Wizardry to Nail Brett Gardner at First

Jose Iglesias is a defensive magician at shortstop for the Detroit Tigers. Monday night against the Yankees he showed off his cannon for a right arm to throw out Brett Gardner at first base. Gardner is pretty fast, making Iglesias’ throw from deep in the hole all the more impressive.
Iglesias missed the entire 2014 season due to fractures in his shins. The Tigers won tonight 2-1 to improve to an MLB-best 11-2, proving the old adage it’s much easier to play baseball with a viable Major League shortstop than without.
