The University of Nebraska-Omaha is about to open a new $81-million arena for its basketball, hockey and volleyball teams … but that’s burying the lede. The most important news from the announcement is that a local restaurant, Voodoo Taco, is going to use a taco-shooting gun at sporting events.

KETV.com has the video of the gun in action and it looks pretty cool. These two quotes from Voodoo Taco owner Eric Newton are great and, perhaps, if you’ll allow me to editorialize for a quick second, what makes America so darn special.

The first:

"“I’m just a little kid and it sounded like fun and I’m like okay taco cannon and justified the expense. My partners laughed at me — that’s dumb. Now they’re emailing today me this is the best thing we’ve ever bought.”"

And how might these tacos taste after being shout out of an air-powered cannon?

"“I wouldn’t say it would be as restaurant quality when it gets to them, but it’s edible.”"
