Archie Bradley took a liner to the head last night off the bat of Carlos Gonzalez. The Diamondbacks pitcher is headed for a stint on the 15-day DL but serious damage appears to have been avoided. Bradley went to the hospital for a CT-scan and doctors said he didn’t suffer a concussion.

Bradley was lucid enough to snap a selfie of his swollen face on the gurney and talk to reporters afterward. He also said he watched the replay numerous times. From MLB.com:

"“It’s not pretty to look in the mirror right now, I’ll tell you that. You know it’s part of the game. Obviously you hate to see it. It hurt pretty bad. It doesn’t bother me to watch the replay. I’ve seen it 15, 20 times now. After watching it, it could have easily got me in the eye or directly in the face. I’ve got to think the Lord above is watching over me.”"

Last season both Giancarlo Stanton and Aroldis Chapman used social media to post updates from the hospital of their respective injuries after being hit by balls, too.
