Someone Spent $40K to Get to Go to Mayweather-Pacquaio With Evander Holyfield

If you clicked into this link with the intention of figuring out the identity of the man or woman (I’d wager a solid chunk of change on the former) of the “someone” in the headline, you have my sincere apologies because the package was bid on anonymously. In addition to getting a ticket to the Manny Pacquaio vs. Serial Abuser Floyd Mayweather fight and steak dinner with Evander Holyfield, the auction winner got first class airfare to Vegas, a room at the MGM Grand, and, here’s the real kicker, a year’s supply of nutrition products.

Although some tickets are going for upwards of $100k, Holyfield — who appears to be quite lucid and in very good shape — quipped that this was nevertheless not a bargain. However, since the proceeds are benefitting blind children, this was not a wholly selfish endeavor on the part of the winning bidder.

Since we’re here, it will be interesting to see if anybody is even still talking about this fight by this time next week. Barring a controversial–and, because it’s boxing–suspected shady judging decision, the answer is almost certainly not. That era of life will be a welcome development.
