Canelo Alvarez KTFO'ed James Kirkland

It’s probably not especially fair to juxtapose last night’s bout between Canelo Alvarez and James Kirkland with last week’s MayPac event, but given their proximity and violence disparity that’s exactly what’s been happening. Canelo landed a knockout punch in the third round; Oscar De La Hoya, who was not without a stake in the fight, compared the match to Hagler-Hearns.
