Robert Kraft Came Out Firing at the NFL in Deflategate Statement
Robert Kraft, who had previously pledged to accept the NFL’s punishment in wake of the Ted Wells report, appears to have recanted that statement tonight. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots take action to appeal their loss of next year’s first round draft pick, which was a massive component of the league’s punishment, along with supporting Tom Brady in his appeal.
Earlier today, Mike Florio reported that the NFLPA would seek Kraft’s support in angling for a neutral arbitrator for Brady, as opposed to the appeal getting heard by Roger Goodell. If that development occurred, it would be a huge blow to the Commissioner’s power.
In related news, it would be fascinating to see some sort of evidence-based accounting of how much the NFL has spent in billable hours during Goodell’s tenure.
