My vIEw #Lebron up 1 with 36.4 to go

A post shared by SuperMario McKinley (@supermario_ie) on

After starting 0-10 from the field in Game 3 against Atlanta on Sunday night, LeBron James finished with 37 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists. Hobbled by an ankle, a knee, his back, and who knows what else, LeBron played 47 minutes in what was a gutty, if at times melodramatic, performance. Five of his points came in the final minute of overtime, on a corner three-pointer and a lay-up where the degree of difficulty looks much greater from this crowd angle than it did on television.

At this point, it’s all but inevitable that the Cavs will be meeting the Warriors in the NBA Finals, and that there will probably be a long layoff before the teams face each other. A lot will get made about how this is Stephen Curry vs. LeBron James. The superstars have both been playing at historically great levels in these playoffs, but their supporting casts have all stepped up.

As quick examples, Draymond Green has almost unfathomable plus/minus numbers and Harrison Barnes has been a stud on defense. On the Cavs, Tristan Thompson — said by Woj this past January not to be a starter on a playoff team — is setting himself up to get PAID as an energy/defense/rebounding glue guy (and has been immensely more valuable than the injured Kevin Love was for Cleveland). JR Smith, who needed Iman Shumpert packaged alongside him in a deal just so the Knicks could get rid of him earlier this season, is hitting three-pointers every time you turn around.

Especially if Kyrie Irving can get healthier with the long time off, these Finals should be a tremendous matchup.
