Red Sox Owner John Henry: "We’ve played like bleep"

The Red Sox were among the favorites to win the World Series this year, albeit via Las Vegas odds and before an actual pitch that mattered was thrown. As of today Boston is 22-29, sitting in last place in the American League East.

There was enough rancor and discontent in Boston for team owner John Henry to address the media on Tuesday. Henry said that the jobs of GM Ben Cherington and manager John Farrell are safe — obviously fans, as usual, want heads to roll. Speaking of fans, Henry offered up this rah-rah, headline-making sentiment, via the Boston Herald:

"“I wouldn’t be supportive if I was a fan watching these games,” he said. “Some of these games have been abysmal. We have played like bleep.”."

Per a quick search though social media and Boston-area media outlets, it appears Henry actually said “bleep” meaning reporters didn’t use it as a replacement word for “shit.” So yeah, Henry has that going for him.

Oh right, Henry and his other owners also have to deal with their other prize asset — Livepool FC. The Reds finished sixth in the Premier League, but manager Brendan Rodgers job is safe.

Anyways I can’t get over that Henry actually said bleep in a sentence. If there’s a silver lining here for the Red Sox the AL East is awful and the Sox are only 4 1/2 games behind the Yankees.
