Adrien Broner Did Adrien Broner Things After Losing to Shawn Porter Last Night

I think I speak for everyone when I say Adrien Broner isn’t afraid to speak his mind. For example, after he defeated Jose Molina — he spewed some venomous words which many thought to be “racist.”

This wasn’t anything new re: Broner, trash-talking is his thing — we get it. The only difference between then and now is: Broner could back it up because he was winning. After getting knocked out by Marcus Maidana in 2013, Broner was undefeated no more and if it hadn’t already — the constant jawing kinda lost its shtick.

Fast-forward to last night: Broner was down big on the scorecard to Shawn Porter, and caught him with a quick left hook that put Porter on the mat. Check out this swag walk by Broner, as if he had planned this all along and had the fight in his pocket, whether Porter got up or not …

This is what makes Adrien Broner, Adrien Broner — as Porter quickly recovered, finished the match, and won a unanimous decision: (118-108, 115-111, 114-112). When asked if him and Porter were still “close,” despite reports that their relationship outside the ring had disintegrated, Broner still had the cojones to say, “We still can have dinner. I’ll take his girl out and everything,” among many other things, in his post fight interview…

The video runs short of the full interview, but, Broner finished by exclaiming: “I’m OK. My kids are OK and I’m financially fine, so it’s OK … At the end of the day, great champions can take a good loss and great champions can take a good win, just like they take a loss. It’s OK.”

Whatever you say, Adrien, I’m sure you would have been this humble in victory as well …
