As you know by now: Larry Nance Jr. was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 27th overall selection in the NBA Draft this past Thursday — which is really funny because he once tweeted…

The world knew it wouldn’t take Kobe Bryant long to respond, but, to at least my surprise: he was surprisingly cool about it and didn’t go full hellfire “your soul is mine” on the rookie.

During a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Jemele Hill yesterday, the Mamba said the tweet, accusation, and any hostility between the two is “water under the bridge”… (mmhm, yeah sure).

"He actually sent me a great message yesterday, which is really funny. I looked at it, and it was like, ‘This is when you know it’s about time to hang these things up, when your teammate writes you, ‘Hi, Mr. Bryant’ I was like, ‘What the f—?’ But it was really nice and apologetic about what had happened. I said, ‘Dude, listen. We’ve all said things and done things that we regret and wish we could take back. It’s water under the bridge, man. Welcome to the team.’ He writes back, ‘Thank you, sir.’"

Legit fell out of my chair when Kobe goes: “Mr. Bryant? WTF?” I imagine this conversation between the two being a lot like when you tried to sneak out of your high school girlfriend’s house without being seen in the morning, but, her dad was downstairs reading the paper — thus, you had try and save face by being overly polite.

It appears Larry Nance Jr. is safe…

…for now.
