CC Sabathia Keeps His Six-Figure Air Jordan Collection in Humidors

CC Sabathia’s shoe collection was the lead in Pam Oliver’s story on sneakerheads for 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime in June. The Yankees pitcher has amassed enough pairs of Air Jordan’s that they’re valued somewhere in the six figures — the distinction of where, exactly, matters more to you or me than to someone in the midst of a contract worth over $180M — and he keeps them in humidors.

A particularly interesting aspect of the feature was the profiling of Shawn Costner — mentor, advisor and high end concierge of sorts for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation agency — who everyone knows as “Pecas” (the Spanish word for freckles), and is also a massive sneakerhead. Through his time at Def Jam and then Roc Nation, Pecas has acquired enough influence that Justise Winslow is shown bringing him a game-worn sneaker from this past national championship game.

All in all, a solid feature if you find yourself with 15 minutes to spare.
