USA Won The 2015 Women's World Cup!

The Americans did not start auspiciously. But, once Jill Ellis switched to one striker and a three-woman central midfield, permitting Carli Lloyd to push forward, the tournament was over. The U.S. overpowered Germany and Japan, perhaps the tournament’s second and third best teams. It’s a shame Sepp Blatter wasn’t there to see it.
Multiple U.S. players put in great shifts. Though Carli Lloyd, with five goals and an assist from the quarterfinals onward is the deserved Golden Ball winner. Abby Wambach gets the storybook ending, albeit not how she pictured it entering the tournament.
This is the USWNT’s third World Cup triumph and first since 1999. Time to add that third star to the crest.
