Chris Johnson shared this photo from Blow today, and it’s just about the apex of the movie for Johnny Depp’s character. However, everything that comes afterwards (multiple arrests, losing everything, etc.) makes it so that particular accumulation of money isn’t exactly one of which to aspire.

Many films about organized crime — Goodfellas, Casino, Scarface — have this trajectory, and it’s always weird to me how the protagonists’ highs are fetishized in pop culture but their downfalls are largely ignored as cautionary tales.
