Kaka and Orlando City took on English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion Wednesday night at the Citrus Bowl. As far as MLS/EPL summer friendlies go, this was about as good as it gets for the American League. Orlando trounced the Baggies 3-1, with Kaka scoring a goal on a run that started at the halfway line. Apparently, the West Brom defense didn’t feel much like running or marking in the July Florida heat.

This run reminded me (and soccer fans) of the mid-2000s when Kaka was at his best with AC Milan.

And wouldn’t you know, his manager Adrian Heath had the exact same sentiments, via the Orlando Sentinel

"“Kaká had a great goal, that was reminiscent of about [2007] Milan going past two or three and putting it in the bottom corner.”"

Some soccer fans around the globe probably still wonder what would happen if Kaka, the 2007 Ballon d’Or winner, resisted the temptation to join Real Madrid in 2009. Here’s a video reminder of just how phenomenal the Brazilian midfielder was during his first stint in with the Rossoneri.
