Can You Imagine if Ray Rice or Greg Hardy Had this Brittney Griner Moment on SportsCenter?

Brittney Griner is in the midst of an ugly divorce stemming from a high-profile domestic violence case. Every detail that trickles out is more cringe-worthy than the last.

And ahead of the WNBA All-Star game over the weekend, there was Griner, on SportsCenter, attempting to dunk with an ESPN anchor running down misses for her. She finally dunked on the 3rd attempt.

Griner is already one of the most recognizable players in the sport. She made a name for herself at Baylor for dunking and dominating (among other things), and would be among the WNBA league leaders in points and rebounds per game if she had played enough games to qualify. (Her 4 blocks a game lead the league.) Griner has only played nine games due to her suspension following the April arrest for domestic violence.

Can you imagine a scenario where Ray Rice or Greg Hardy would be displaying football techniques or playfully catching passes during SportsCenter three months after their domestic arrests? Should we just chalk this one up to everyone being outraged-out on Hulk Hogan and Colin Cowherd?
