David Stern: Next Mayor of New York City?

David Stern spent 30 years as Commissioner of the NBA before retiring in January 2014. Now apparently, Stern’s friends think he should be mayor of New York City. Via Page Six:

"“He’s pretty bored,” said one source. “He’s always been interested in politics, and he’s always been interested in running for office.”"

Woah! David Stern? Mayor of NYC!? That would be crazy!

"Stern, though “flattered,” said he is not interested in running. “I remain a happy Westchester resident and am very busy as a senior adviser to a number of enterprises.”"

Oh, never mind. Expect the exact opposite version of this story two years after Roger Goodell retires resigns in disgrace leaves office.
